May 2026: A Letter From The Executive Director

Hello friends, family, and community partners,

If the month of April is any indication of what’s possible within our community, we are stepping into this season with momentum and purpose.

We were inspired to see over 350 middle and high school students, along with staff from the Salem-Keizer School District, attend the AAYLC Youth Conference in Corvallis at Oregon State University. Thank you to the AAYLC team for hosting such an impactful and empowering experience for our students.

We also celebrate the success of our first annual Blueprint Fundraising Event. We are deeply grateful to our incredible staff and volunteers who created a meaningful opportunity for our community and partners to show up in such a powerful way. Your support continues to move this work forward.

The Blueprint represents our “how”—our commitment to developing the next generation of community leaders, leaving our community better than we found it, and preparing leaders to move forward together in a cohesive, diverse, and equitable future.

Thanks to our contributors, we raised over $13,000 to support or mission!

As we look ahead, we enter a season of student celebrations, graduations, and renewed opportunity through summer programming that supports both students and families. There is so much to look forward to.

“Therefore let us stop passing judgment on one another. Instead, make up your mind not to put any stumbling block or obstacle in the way of a brother or sister.”
