April 2026: A Letter From The Executive Director

Hello friends, family, and community partners,

Building a strong, thriving community often requires sacrifice—especially within Black, Brown, and under-resourced communities. This work carries a deeper meaning, shaped by history, resilience, and a shared sense of collective responsibility.

Sacrifice isn’t just about giving things up—it’s about choosing long-term impact over short-term comfort.

It can look like:

  • Investing time instead of seeking immediate income
  • Pausing personal goals to uplift others
  • Taking risks so future generations have greater opportunities

This is the foundation of our organization: building a more resilient community for today and for generations to come.

This month, we invite you to stand with us in that mission.

We are proud to celebrate and support our youth at the 20th Annual A.A.Y.L.C. (African American Youth Leadership Conference). This year, Salem Keizer Public Schools has 350 students attending from both middle and high schools!

We also welcome you to join us at our Blueprint Signature Fundraiser—an opportunity to come together, celebrate, and actively map out what it takes to build a stronger, more resilient community.

Our commitment to student success continues as we focus on supporting students at risk of not graduating. Through targeted credit recovery efforts, we are working to uplift students—especially juniors and seniors—helping them stay on track and reach the finish line. This isn’t possible without our partnership with Salem Keizer Public Schools. If you have an interest in becoming a tutor or mentor, we invite you to do so!

Finally, we are excited to welcome our new Program Director, Quinn Nottage. A graduate of Willamette University and a dedicated educator, Quinn has already been hitting the ground running and is poised to help lead our efforts in strengthening and growing our community impact.
