We’re excited to share highlights from this summer and the impact we were able to make by investing in elementary and middle school students—nearly 100 in total!
In partnership with the Salem-Keizer School District’s summer program, we reintroduced the curriculum, Black History 365 through Bold, Black and Brilliant. Students engaged with history in new and meaningful ways, and we are thrilled to see this curriculum moving toward a full launch as a high school elective. As part of the program, we also sponsored an inspiring field trip to OMSI, giving students the opportunity to explore science and innovation through a hands-on experience.
In partnership with People’s Church and the Arthur Shankle Coalition of Churches, we were able to provide over 600 backpacks to students returning to school—ensuring they started the year equipped and encouraged.
This summer also brought an exciting partnership with Pentacle Theatre, where our fundraiser not only supported the arts but also introduced our mission to a wider audience. Through Hairspray the Musical, we celebrated the power of storytelling and history while connecting with new students and families.
Looking ahead, we are shifting our Blueprint Fundraiser to February 2026, aligning it with Black History Month to ensure maximum impact and visibility for our mission.
As we move into the fall season, we are energized by what’s ahead and grateful for your continued support in helping us grow opportunities for our youth and strengthen our community.
